A beautiful quote from Matthew Karsten, professional adventure travel addict and photographer who’s been traveling around the world for over 7 years now, and probably has the coolest blog ever, is ‘An investment in travel is an investment in yourself’. I would hope to think we all find ourselves yearning for this ‘investment’ at some point in our lives, I know I have been guilty of day dreams of exotic travel, adventure, the impact of participating in something bigger than me and my immediate surroundings, hoping the descriptions and images of vibrant sounds, colors and scents of faraway places, would alleviate the reality of my bland fluorescent lit office. Additionally, with the accessibility of social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and online blogs, I was able more than ever to sit at my desk and follow, vicariously experiencing other people’s journeys by reading. The people who were a bit braver than me and just did it, making the jump to invest, jumping out into the world travelling to the off the grid and untouched places I had always dreamed of. This idea of cultural and alternative travel is of course no new concept, many an adventurer has paved the way for us in the past, but the recognition of the positive attributes and enhancement the individual travelers experience, and being able to share in this experience from the relative safety (albeit safety in boredom) of your office is being recognized, and utilized more and more. So now that I have made that jump from the bland, fluorescent lit, safe and boring office to one I felt more authentic with Trouvaille I want to share with you one such experience hoping this inspires you to join us.
