Relish Sunshine in February with a Florida Vacation

In the darkness of mid-February, just as winter up north gets ready for another freeze, Florida boasts clear skies and an average high temperature of seventy-six degrees. Add the South Beach Wine & Food Festival®, outdoor adventures, cultural excursions, and just the right amount of free time, and you have the recipe for Trouvaille’s South Florida small group tour.

Delicious food is a cornerstone of this Florida vacation, with a choice dining experience each night. On days five and six of our tour, the South Beach Wine & Food Festival® can be as good for education and celebrity sightings as it is for incredible food. Glimpse one of your favorite Food Network stars and learn something new as your taste buds take the grand tour.

Savor a Well-Rounded Experience with Our Group Tour

Beautiful weather and excellent food call for outdoor adventures. View Miami Beach, Florida from the top of the Cape Florida Lighthouse, followed by your choice of beach, shopping, or sightseeing along the Miami Beach Boardwalk. Another day, view three separate Everglade ecosystems by airboat. Turtles, herons, and alligators live in abundance throughout these wetlands. At the end of our day through the Everglades, animal lovers can choose to hug a baby alligator.

As with all of Trouvaille’s small group tours, once you arrive at West Palm Beach, Florida, we take care of just about everything. Included in your tour package are lodging, welcome gifts, transportation to all events, entry fees and tickets for all group activities, one South Beach Wine & Food Festival® special event worth up to $150, all breakfasts and lunches, dinner on the night of arrival, and a farewell dinner the night before departure. You also get an expert host from start to finish, our enthusiastic and experienced Paul Hardersen. Transportation to and from West Palm Beach is not included.

NASA Kennedy Space Center and Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

In addition to taste delights and outdoor adventures, we take in some of Florida’s cultural and scientific sights. Day four of our tour takes us to the NASA Kennedy Space Center, where we can explore the history of the space program, as well as see what the future offers. Get up and close to a real space shuttle, as you tour with our expert host and actual planetary scientist, Paul Hardersen.

The Vizcaya Museum and gardens is a palatial Miami Beach villa, built for the late James Deering. With vast rooms and majestic columns, this slice of European-style architecture rests right on the water. Day three, it is also our site for an elegant lunch.

Warmth, relaxation, and stylish dining comprise the essence of our Florida vacation. Curious to know more? Review the full plan for each of the eight days with our detailed itinerary. Book now to guarantee your place.

Daily itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Day

As you walk off the jet at Palm Beach International Airport with your luggage and full of anticipation, you breathe in the warm, welcoming air, let the sun shine down on you, and realize that it’s time for fun! You are greeted by your Trouvaille host who whisks you off to the Hilton Palm Beach Airport Hotel where you have time to settle in, get refreshed, and receive your uniquely created welcome package and gifts. Once everyone has arrived, the group gathers for a relaxing dinner at Tony Roma’s to meet everyone and discuss the upcoming week.

Day 2: Everglades & Alligators!

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, the gang gathers for the first adventure, which is to Everglades National Park. We spend the day traveling to the Everglades and visiting Captain Jack’s Airboat Tours where we strap ourselves into airboats and zoom across the swamplands. Learn about this unique ecological wonder and marvel at the wildlife and beauty of the scenery. We visit three different Everglades ecosystems and the animal sanctuary.

Dinner at Smith and Wollensky

After a very full day, we celebrate with a dinner at Smith and Wollensky in Miami Beach along with a fabulous ocean view.

Day 3: Miami Beach & Boardwalk

Enjoy breakfast before returning to the Miami Beach area for a day of exploring to your heart’s content. First, we drive to Key Biscayne and visit Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park where we climb the Cape Florida Lighthouse steps all the way to the top and glimpse truly fabulous views of the Miami Beach area. We then go north on a short drive to visit the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, a truly elegant Miami Beach residence for the late James Deering, tour the facilities, and savor a noontime lunch.

The afternoon is spent along the Miami Beach Boardwalk where you are free to roam and do whatever catches your fancy. Maybe it’s a little bit of beach time, maybe it’s time to get your shopping on, or maybe something else altogether! You have a few hours to wander around before we convene for dinner at the La Cote Mediterranean Oceanside Bistro at the Fountainbleau Miami Beach Resort. More stunning ocean views during dinner!

Day 4: NASA Space Center

Today’s the day to explore space and the NASA Kennedy Space Center! After breakfast, we drive north to the Center where we explore the history of America’s space program, remember the awe of the first human landings on the Moon, and see old and new rockets and launch pads. Get up close and personal with a space shuttle and learn what NASA has in store for the future. There are also opportunities for special tours, and – if we have really good timing – we might even see a rocket launch. Finish up this exciting day back in West Palm Beach with a delicious dinner at Bimini Twist, specializing in fresh, local seafood.

Day 5 and 6: South Beach Wine & Food Festival®

We now begin the foodie portion of this week’s adventure. The South Beach Wine & Food Festival®! You’re free to enjoy everything the Festival has to offer at your own pace. Enjoy opening day events, presentations, glimpse your favorite food celebrity, and choose one special event to attend (worth up to $150). Maybe you’ll want to explore a Taste of Puerto Rico, join the Wine & Cheese Happy Hour, get splash happy at the Rose’ Pool Party, or join the Nulo Pet Food’s Yappie Hour! There is no shortage of events to enjoy. The group gathers in the afternoon to decide where we want to have to dinner ~ if we’re still hungry. We also enjoy a second day at the Festival because there is so much to do and so little time to do it. Bobby Flay, we are coming for you!

Day 7: Food Fest or West Palm Beach

Today offers choices. You can get more of the South Beach Wine & Food Festival® or take time to explore West Palm Beach. Activities in West Palm Beach include West Palm Beach Food Tours, Horse & Carriage Rides, Worth Avenue Historical Tour, and the South Florida Science Museum and Aquarium. We transport everyone to their activity of choice throughout the day and pick you up in the late afternoon to return to the hotel. Our day and week then wrap up with a departure dinner at PB Catch where we share what we did and enjoyed the most.

Day 8: Departure

All good things must come to an end. Drat! We make sure that everyone is ready for their trips home and take everyone to the airport to catch their flights in plenty of time. Trouvaille staff is available all day to assist with travel logistics and to deal with any problems that arise.
